Earth Skin

The Earth's  skin — where matter reveals the visible traces of time.

Earth Skin is an exploration of the planet's surface as a living archive, where erosion, fire, sediment and time leave visible traces upon matter. Rather than depicting nature as landscape, the photographs observe the Earth's skin as a place where physical processes accumulate, overlap and slowly rewrite the visible world.

Burned trunks, eroded rocks, sand, stones and fractured surfaces are observed as marks rather than subjects. Human presence appears only occasionally, as one more layer within the same geological and biological continuum.

The Earth is regarded almost as a living being: one of us, simply larger, older and more enduring.
