Bio, Recent Awards and Exhibitions
Giuseppe Potente (b. 1950) is an Italian photographer whose work explores the transformation of energy into visual form.
He was Professor of Imaging at Sapienza University of Rome from 1988 to 2010.
His photographic research has evolved from humanistic street photography toward a more experimental investigation of natural forces, light and matter, developed in recent years through the body of work titled Primordial Trilogy.
His work has received several international recognitions including awards at the IPA, TIFA and Refocus Photography Awards.

Potente’s photographs have been exhibited internationally, including the exhibition Abstract Synchrony at the Esther Rupert Art Museum in South Africa in 2025.
He lives and works between Europe and South Africa.
